Last summer I snuck in a few non medical illustration projects. The majority of them involved designing wedding invitations.

I'm happy to say that I've reached that point in my life where my friends are getting hitched and my year was filled with fantastic weddings and cakes. Oh my glob, so much good cake.

Here's a picture of my friend with some cake. She's got the right idea.

I wanted to share with you the wedding invitation designs I created for my dear friends, Sam and Mark, two of the most funniest and loveliest people out there.

Sam came to me with a very cool concept of wanting to merge the illustrative art deco style with prominent landmarks of Glasgow. She also wanted to incorporate the interior features of their wedding venue, Cottiers, a beautiful converted church that's now a bar and restaurant. More specifically, she wanted to see the arch structure (see picture above) included in the overall design.

After some research I mocked up something that hit the mark and we reached out to a local design team, E.Y.i.LOVE, to help us make the physical prints. If you haven't heard of them I urge you to check out their work, absolutely fantastic.

Anyway below is the result of our collaboration. Hope you like it!
